13 MAY 2019: SYNBIO WORLD CAFÉ, GEORG-LICHTENBERG HAUS, DARMSTADT

Janine Gondolf from TU Darmstadt hosted a table at the SynBio World Café presented by GASB (German Association for Synthetic Biology).

Since Synthetic Biology holds the promise to be a driving force for the advancement of the bioeconomy, the organisers brought together stakeholders with backgrounds in academia, corporate industry, startups, or a combination of those fields as world café guests. Catering for different interests, the event focused on four broad topics:
– commodities & materials
– food & agriculture
– healthcare & biopharma
– energy Over three rounds, attendants were given the opportunity to participate in round-table discussions of multiple topics. Eachdiscussion was guided by the a table host;  an expert in the respective field (or an important aspect of that field). Janine provided insights, pointed out limitations and opportunities, guided the discussion and summarised important points at the food & agriculture table.
